Since it was founded in 1996 by osteopath Sarah Hayes, The Kingsport Osteopathic Clinic has become a popular destination for patients seeking gentle, effective, restorative health care. Thousands of patients from around the globe have been successfully treated for all kinds of health problems.

Located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, the Clinic overlooks the ocean at the edge of the Minas Basin, which boasts the highest tides in the world. Driving to and from the Clinic serves to prepare and integrate each patient for the transformative experience provided by their osteopathic treatment.

While the Clinic primarily provides osteopathic treatments, other modalities are also offered. These include: The Trager Approach, Traditional Swedish Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Reflexology.

We believe that it is important for all babies to get an osteopathic assessment after birth to check for birth trauma and restricted patterns of movement. We offer this at no charge to babies under 3 months as a community service. This can be extremely helpful to babies with colic, sleeping difficulties, problems with digestion and bowel movements, inability to latch or nurse effectively. Problems of this nature can cause problems for the entire family as it often results in sleep deprivation!! Please call the clinic and have your newborn checked out!

Regular musculoskeletal assessment is so important while the body grows. "As the twig is bent....so grows the tree." Structural problems that develop in childhood can become fixed into the body in adulthood. Assessing and treating the body in childhood prevents these problems while supporting the nervous system to develop normal patterns, in particular in relation to posture, balance, co-ordination and cognitive skills. If your child is involved in sports we recommend they come for treatment at any time throughout the season when injury occurs or at the end of every season for rebalancing. This can prevent a myriad of problems from developing at a later time.

Most mainstream insurance plans cover these services, however a medical referral may be required in specific cases. Please check with your insurance company prior to booking your appointment.
